Reconstruction of the Carlin Springs Rd./George Mason Dr. Bridge

Monday September 26th, 7:00 PM

Barrett Elementary School- Multi-Purpose Room

Background:

Arlington County has recently completed an engineering review of the N. Carlin Springs Road bridge over N. George Mason Drive.  The study’s conclusion is that the bridge, constructed in 1961, is in need of significant structural repair and should be reconstructed in the near future.  Reconstruction of the bridge also provides an opportunity to change some components of the appearance and operation of the N. Carlin Springs Road/ George Mason Drive interchange.

Agenda will include:

  • Presentation on the findings of the engineering review
  • Presentation on alternatives for how the current bridge may be reconstructed
  • Attendees are invited to comment on the design and reconstruction alternatives

Additional Information:

A project webpage can be found on the County’s website (www.arlingtonva.us) using the keywords “Carlin Springs Bridge” or contact Richard Viola, Transportation Planning Section Supervisor at rviola@arlingtonva.us or (703) 228-3699.
