Virtual meeting of the Buckingham Community Civic Association – January 25, 2021

The Buckingham Community Civic Association (BCCA) will hold its next virtual membership meeting on Monday, January 25, 2021, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Attendees should register in advance for this meeting by clicking here and placing their own names and e-mail addresses in the boxes provided.

After registering, attendees will receive a confirmation email message containing instructions about joining the meeting.  The message will contain a link to the meeting itself.

Attendees may need to download an app from Zoom before they can register. They should therefore should click on the above link before 7:15 p.m. on Monday to allow time to complete their registration. After registering, they should join the meeting shortly before 7:30 p.m.

The meeting will feature a presentation on the Arlington County Forestry and Natural Resources Plan by David Farner, Deputy Division Chief, Parks and Natural Resources, Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreation.  This new County master plan will update and replace the County’s 2004 Urban Forest Master Plan and 2010 Natural Resources Management Plan.

BCCA will discuss the construction schedule for the  Harris-Teeter site (600 N. Glebe Road) redevelopment project. Demolition of the American Service Center  building will begin shortly.  Pile driving for the first new building (Building 1) will begin in mid- to late February.  BCCA may vote on whether to send a message to the building company about this schedule or any other concerns relating to the project’s construction.
During the meeting, BCCA will determine the dates for its remaining 2021 meetings and its first 2022 meeting. These will be virtual meetings until the COVID-19 pandemic resolves to the point at which BCCA can again safely hold in-person meetings.

During the meeting, BCCA will determine its 2020 officers and representatives to other organizations for 2020.

The BCCA bylaws describe the duties of the officers and representatives.

At its November 2, 2020 virtual meeting, BCCA voted to not charge any 2021 dues for members who have paid their 2020 dues.
