In November, Arlington County is starting a maintenance project on a culvert along George Mason Drive east of the Carlin Springs Road interchange.

The culvert channels water past the roadway, and the project will increase the life span of the structure and improve the water flow.

This project is expected to start on Nov. 2 and be completed in approximately one month, weather permitting.

What to expect during construction:

• Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm; some work may need to be performed on Saturdays
• There will be a lane closure on southbound George Mason Drive approaching the work zone
• The exit ramp from Carlin Springs Road to George Mason Drive will be closed – Signage will direct drivers to a detour via Park Drive
