The Arlington County government has released its draft Forestry and Natural Resources Plan. The draft Plan will be open for public feedback and comments until Monday, October 3, 2022.

This is the first draft of the plan. The Planning Commission and County Board will hold public hearings to consider the final version of the Plan at a later date.

If implemented, recommendations in the final Plan will help preserve and increase tree canopy and natural areas in neighborhoods and public spaces throughout the County.

There are two methods that you can use to provide feedback and comments. You can use one or both methods.

1. Click here to add comments on an on-line feedback form. You can use the form to give your opinion as whether the plan’s vision statement and strategic directions are on target, as well as on which action steps the County should focus on to support its forests and natural resources.  You can place additional comments in boxes on each page of the form.

2. Click here to directly add comments to each section of the Plan. Each of your comments will appear in a bubble, which others will be able to read and to consider when preparing their own comments.
